Learn About the New Prius AWD-e Editions at Advantage Toyota Valley Stream

For years, the Toyota Prius has impressed giving drivers a hybrid that allows them to go the distance with a long driving range and being as fuel efficient as possible. Now, more traction is coming to the Prius lineup as the all-new Prius AWD-e model is hitting showrooms like ours here in Valley Stream.

The 2019 Prius AWD-e takes the redesigned 2019 Prius models, and gives it all-wheel drive. For many of us out there who like the security of knowing all our wheels are working to provide grip of the road, especially during slippery wet weather or in the winter when it's snowing, this option provides not only peace of mind, but standout performance, too.

The Prius AWD-e system adds a stand-alone electric motor within the rear multi-link suspension so it doesn't get in the way of the cabin or luggage compartment. There's no physical drive shaft, just two components that work together to send power to all the wheels. You're still netting combined miles per gallon in the 50s. These electric motors are also powered by a nickel-metal-hydride not lithium-ion as it helps the vehicle perform better in the cold, which as we said with snowy weather, we'll need it.

You're also going to find a slight ground clearance increase, and the all-wheel drive system operates at speeds under 43 miles per hour to help you pull away while stopped during slippery road conditions. It's certainly a benefit that many drivers will like and here in our showroom serving Queens and Long Island, we can help you find the right Prius for you.
